New technology makes it possible to treat swallowing disorders

According to Mehr News Agency quoted Nyvatls, traditional treatment methods to solve the problem swallowing  after stroke are very costly and time-consuming. But the Fagnix system, developed by a British company of the same name, speeds up treatment and costs patients less.
The system consists of a touch screen that is connected to a disposable catheter via an electrical cable. The catheter should be inserted into the throat once a day for three days for three minutes. For this purpose, the catheter is inserted into the patient’s nose and transferred to the back of the throat.
Electrodes mounted on the catheter send gentle electrical pulses to the tissues of the throat, and these pulses improve the control centers of the neural connection between the throat and the brain. Studies show that using this catheter for 30 minutes in three days completely cures the problem
